Does anyone in tech get their taxes done by H&R Block, or am I an idiot? I had 3 jobs in 2021 + K1 (with an eqty conv)
The K1 is pretty complex… I’m just being lazy and didn’t feel like finding someone. Is that dumb? TC $280K

I used H&R block once, the person was very dumb and wasted so much of my time. If you want to save time go with someone who knows what they're doing at least, like an accountant. Otherwise it doesn't actually save tjme
Yeah that just happened 🤣 I said I work in tech and they said “IT?”. I also mentioned self-driving, and they were mindblown that self-driving existed at all (living in Pittsburgh, home to CMU and half the self driving companies).
The lady I used typed in basic info like name address and whatnot with two fingers while I sat there for an hour. Then she asked stupid questions for the next hour. It was very painful, like asking a DMV employee to prepare my taxes. I don't know if it was just that I got a bad one but that experience made me never go back again. I just power through the TurboTax
I do them myself using H&R Block.
I’ve heard that TurboTax is easy to use but I’ve never used it, just had a tax person I pay directly
Depends on who you get. Some of the preparers are amazing and others managed to pass a test.
