Does anyone know anything about techforce @ Salesforce? What’s the WLB, path to promo, growth, morale like over there? Got a remote offer to join. Team seems nice but don’t know if it’s a facade. I’ve heard scary things about BT/IT departments. #techforce #bt #offer #tech #growth #promo #wlb #morale #wfh #remote
Yea, it’s pretty good. Kinda chill. BT gets a bad rap cause they get blamed when dumbass sales and marketing folks can’t get stuff working cause they’re violating IT policies by using unapproved software. Then they blast their “grievances” on Slack channels. I’m in security and our team works kinda closely with BT. Some really smart engineers on the BT side.
Ahh nice to hear that it’s chill I guess lol. Would you say it’s a safe place to be at the moment?
Yea, lotsa long term initiatives where BT is heavily involved.
They've been debugging a simple SSO problem for Fond for who knows how many users for 6 months. I've also got a ticket for a broken flow in org62 for 4 months, for core functionality. I'm sure there are smart people there but looking from outside, it sure doesn't look like they've got the sort of pressure to perform as in business
Does this worry you? I’m concerned that BT isn’t a money machine for the company and will be prone to layoffs
Aloha SSO has lots of stupid customizations, they're getting away from it now more in line with industry standards. Org62 also does really weird hierarchical authorizations. Once that's standardized to meet industry standard specs for authn/authz it will become seamless. OP, that's always a concern not being a revenue source but a cost center. But there are too many security and other initiatives important for revenue generation that are being driven by BT. You'll be set for at least 3-4 years based on current scope, and automation will unlock better opportunities as well. There's plenty of innovation work even with 1000 slack bots.
Are promos common in BT? Heard BT is usually slower when it comes to promo
Easiest job on the plane.
Is it a safe place to be? How’s the promo process?
