I heard if you interview at Amazon and you get a strongly not inclined, you cannot get a job there. Is this true? How often are these given? Can you get this for just bombing or like maybe not looking too eager to join?
Strong not incline is not even discussed unless someone has a significant character flaw.
Strong not incline is the nuclear option. I have heard anecdotes of a candidate screaming at an interviewer to get one, paranoid and volatile accusations about attempting to be tricked or manipulated, attempts to hide things on a resume and misleading during an interview... Basically things you would end up being fired and blacklisted for. This is when you are at your best, so that means when you’re at your worst later you’re going to be a true nightmare. I have used this maybe twice in hundreds of interviews.
Hittin that nuke button 1/50 eh?
Closer to 250-300. They earned it. For sure.
In 8+ years, I’ve only ever used SNI twice. I’m around 750 interviews. It’s rare and in both cases the person said/did something very inappropriate.
Mind sharing those inappropriate things?
+1 what did they do?
Strong not inclined is equivalent to "I would rather quit than have this person be hired."

As a Bar Raiser, I can tell u it takes a lot to get a ‘strong not incline’ kind of vote. Poor performance or lack of true intent is not enough. One needs to show ethics (i.e. resume fudge, sensitive info sharing) / attitude (i.e. racism) / culture gaps (i.e. poor attitude to subordinates) to be placed there.
Can you better explain the Bar Raiser role in an interview? I have an L6 onsite coming up this week.
