Apple (Bay Area) or Facebook (Seattle)
I am undecided between two offers. Apple's project is more exciting to me, but the offer from Facebook is so convenient and compelling (and the project is also cool). I also think that the Apple team is more interested in me specifically than the Facebook team. Apple ICT4 Bay area :200k base / 260 stock / 80 signin FB E5 seattle: 170k base / 400 stock / 0 signin I could also wait for google and Dropbox in Seattle , but I don't think I will be able to keep the offers from A and FB alive until then. For reference. I am Ms l63 and both offers are way better than my ~200k TC including full vesting pipeline. My previous manager was awful and his feedback may haunt me for a couple of years, but my current manager and project are great. The offers are not final, but I believe apple is at the highest extreme of ICT4.
If you feel any ethical responsibility at all then the choice should obviously be Apple....
Not really. Apple annoys me everyday by asking me to pay for iCloud ("you need to backup your phone, oh wait you need to pay for iCloud for the space") and upgrade iOS when they know they could stop the messages.
Apple doesnt mine your data and sell it to companies that try to influence you at an individual level to purchase specific products and vote in certain ways...

Apple has better mission and conduct. Some teams in ML are quite exciting.

I haven't decided yet. The work and project seems to be more exciting at Apple, plus they seem to really care about getting me. However, because of cost of life adjustments and benefits , Facebook's offer is very attractive

If they would let me work in Seattle, it would be a no brainer. Location is not negotiable. I asked. :(
