can someone provide feedback or info for engineering project manager interview at apple ... apple watch team to be precise . thanks much in advance
Wear an Apple Watch to the interview. Also don’t bring an android phone.
Lol! Don’t have one! So yes! My question.. I am familiar with the product ... but do I need to know all of its features and details for the interview ?
I can imagine. Apple loves people who are passionate about their products. If you walk into the interview saying the only thing I know is Apple Watch keeps time then it’s probably not a good look
What's your background?
Currently I am a customer program manager at intel .... I had phone interview with HM about a month back... and I said I do not have direct proj management experience but can translate my current role to this role that you are talking about! He didn’t sound convinced at first ... but after 1 month I got invite for onsite interview for the same role and same manager !
What are types of question for this role? Is it about proj management or it’s about my background? Or it’s about technical details of Apple Watch ?
I have not interview at Apple but had Program Manager interview at Google. It felt more like Project Manager interview. They essentially asked me what are the different steps of Project Management (along the lines of PDCA but more detailed), what would you do if during your project a critical team that you are dependent on de-prioritizes your request?, your project is 25% complete with 75% budget consumed - what would you do? If you havn't yet, I would say focus on PM methodologies with budgeting. Program & Project Management are intertwined - A program can have many projects under it.
Nice! Yeah I would say you've got some relevant experience, but I'm not totally sure of project vs program manager.
You might need to prepare a presentation.
You mean prepare live presentation ? Haven’t been asked yet by recruiter ..
Yeah I did two onsites, both required interviews. One was open ended and the other was on a specific topic
