baseline resume (3/5): regular CS degree at regular university, projects, maybe an internship. where does the candidate who went to a coding bootcamp for a few months rank for prestige? i see a lot of them on linkedin nowadays, and they always post the react apps they make. they must be prestigious. i see a lot of "netflix clones" and "youtube clones" and "amazon clones", which is prestigious. #prestige TC 277 🥜
Bootcamps have high prestige imo
Prestige has a very specific meaning, especially when applied to education. Coding bootcamps are basically the very opposite of prestigious. It doesn’t mean they’re worthless, but absolutely not prestigious.
These bootcamps are ruining the webdev field. Please stop hiring them. You guys notice how most webs suck? That's exactly why.
It’s just spiders getting lazy. All those hard working immigrant spiders have got fat like regular American spiders and they won’t let new ones in cause they don’t want to have to work hard again
I have never felt threatened by bootcampers lol, they're below my league. I'm merely spitting out a fact.
Stupid Blind Comment system! Grrr
You need ivy league prestige to center a div
Yes look at Reddit.com. 1000 of bootcampers working together on that.
Kids these days with their bootcamp skills, using flexbox and place-items:center! Back in my day we took our ivy league degrees and used blink and center tags! And we liked it!
I’ve noticed that many of the good bootcampers I’ve met went to Ivies for a degree other than CS. They would’ve done well regardless if they went to a bootcamp or not.
to be honest a lot of bootcampers are better than most cs grads i’ve seen. avg cs grad is pretty horrible
You can gain prestige at an elite university; otherwise, all that matters are your skills.
It depends on the boot camp. Albertsons boot camp is the most prestigious
0/5 prestige but that isnt correlated with skills at an individual level
