I interviewed for the Systems Software Engineer role at Nvidia last week. My profile was a perfect match for the role, and there were a total of four rounds of interviews. Three of them went very well, but I had a particularly unpleasant experience in 2nd round. I was asked a standard LC hard, gave him the popular optimised solution, but he was still not content. Then, he went on to ask very random unrelated questions, which I did answer as well but he was not willing to understand what I was explaining (don’t know why). At the end, he even boasted that at Nvidia, they like to hire people with diverse skills and knowledge, that's the reason they don't do layoffs. Once I got the rejection mail today, I asked the recruiter for feedback, but she did not provide any. Instead, she advised me to go ahead and apply for other positions within the company. To top it off, the email mentioned the commencement of a "Diversity Hire" program starting from 19 Feb, like WTF!!?? Has anyone else had a similar shitty experience with Nvidia? What kind of hiring standards they have, as my profile matched their requirements exactly. Also, as the recruiter encouraged me to apply right away, does it imply that there is no cool-off period?
