Hi everyone, Could you please let me know what does grade 8 with median salary at Intel equivalent to medtronic. I have 6 YOE at Intel, with a PhD in Chemistry from top college. Currently looking to switch to medical industry and I was invited for an interview for a Sr. Engineering role. As I am going through this process, I am beginning to wonder if the education evaluation is different amongst the industries. My concern is not just about education but about the exposure to technical research projects. The hiring manager for this role per linkedin has a BS and 10 YOE, people in the similar roles on an average have BS+ 8YOE. So I am beginning to doubt if I am stepping down by considering this position or am I looking at a wrong position Or is this a good strategy to get my foot into medical device industry. I am reaching out for an honest opinion as I consider interviewing for the role. Please let me know your thoughts.
Does sound like a step down. What is the title of the job ? If it is not a scientist you’re probably looking at the wrong job. Engineer in a bio tech company is not like a TD engineer at intel. These engineers would be technicians at intel. Equivalent position for some like you would scientist or lead researcher.
Thank you for your thoughts. Job title is Sr. Manufacturing engineer
