Trying to decide if the jump to Stripe is worth it. They have been talking about IPO since 2021, but still nothing and not sure if I should jump the current ship and go to Stripe. Their brand looks modern but their growth and layoffs are contradicting. Looking for any info on the company culture? W/L balance? Product/Marketing/Design teams? WFH vs RTO? Benefits? TC 160k
Stripe is overvalued and doesn't give 4 year grants so very little upside for an IPO. Good product though
Yeah $65b is wild. Any info on the equity they typically give, especially since they’re still a privately held company?
Its a fixed dollar amount each year. Check levels.fyi
It's hard to get in, not worth the stay and pays in paper, so not sure which part is enticing for the jump.
It was good until 2023, TC was top notch. Not any more though. Not worth joining now.
How bad have things gotten since then?
It bad at all, you will still get way more than your current TC, and surrounded by really smart colleagues for the most part. Stripe is going to rule payments like G rules search, there is not even a distant 2nd right now. Just that, new TC’s are just meh.
Sorry to hijack, but I thought it might be better than starting a new post. Any thoughts on the Marketing org over there?
