5yrs YOE but not in the USA WePay SE vs Facebook Enterprise Engineer E4 WePay SE - Redwood City, California Base - 160k Annual Bonus - 55k No stocks, sign-on Total - 215k Facebook EE E4 - Fremont, California Base - 160k Bonus - 10% RSU - 120k, 4yr Not yet discussed sign-on and relocation Both of them asked me to reply with an "I will immediately sign" expectation number this weekend. Any recommendation for how should I answer that? I know EE won't get as many RSU as SWE, but am I got a low ball from FB?
5 yoe not in US ... new grad offer post MS? Take fb
Yes, they are all new grad offer. Luckily got several experienced hire
Congrats on the offers! What kind of things do you want to work on? If you're optimizing for $$, FB is the winner because refreshers stack nicely over time. If enterprise engineering is not up your alley, then WePay might be a better fit.
Honestly, I don't have a strong preference for it, but I want to have more chances to learn and utilize new technology. Not sure how to evaluate that tho.
Surprised blind is recommending EE over SWE when the money is the same.
I am surprised too lol. I thought that ppl here don't like EE at all. Guess the brand "FB" is more important than the role?
Is SDE senior data engineer?
I see FB clearly identifies its role as EE but isn't WePay's actually a similar role?
Wepay offers software engineer role. In Facebook there are software engineer and enterprise engineer. They have different types of responsibility. Wepay has different teams but they are all software engineer. Not sure if I explained it clearly 😂
Ended up choosing Wepay since I have heard some se e3 @ FB get more TC than my ee e4 offer lol
Lol solid choice. Everything I know suggests Wepay is a great company.
OP, it’s been 2 years. Could you please share your experience with WePay? Did you join post the Chase acquisition? I have an offer from WePay and I’m unable to decide. The offer is great, but I’ll lose the Microsoft brand and I’m not sure if it’s easy to get back to FAANGMULA. What do you recommend?
good offer for EE.
I thought that number is pretty low 😂 any insight on refresher?
it's not a SWE band but then Wepay isn't comparable. ask recruiter on refreshers. EE has good wlb
