buying a house in Bay area for home base
i plan to leave the Bay Area next year for either Atlanta or Austin. my entire family is in the Bay Area and want to have a property here for home base. looking to buy for a long term hold. look at either oakland hills, el sobrante , berkeley. any insight on if this is a good bet long term?

Property tax
Oakland Hills will be the smallest loss over the next 3-5 years through the downturn . Long haul it should be fine, assuming it does not burn.
