Why is 400 extremely important for BJP?

This is appeal to rationale souls of India. BJP has revealed all its cards in its second term. It will struggle to maintain the narrative going forward. They are going to be more draconian and extremely decisive from now on. If they can't get full-majority, then will loose all momentum and can't carry their agenda that divides this country further. Few aspects how BJP and Modi style politics is damaging the fabric of electoral democracy and becoming a electoral autocracy. Electoral autocracy is a hybrid regime, in which democratic institutions are imitative and adhere to authoritarian methods. In these regimes, regular elections are held, but they are accused of failing to reach democratic standards of freedom and fairness A: Buying or intimidating elected officials - the BJP is accused of "buying" or inducing MLAs to switch sides and form governments in the following states and local elections 1. Madhya Pradesh 2. Maharashtra 3. Goa 4. Karnataka 5. Arunachal Pradesh 6. Manipur 7. Uttarakhand 8. Jammu and Kashmir 9. Chandigarh B: Most of the white money for political expenditure comes through electoral bonds and it's revealed all the major donors. 6000Cr of 12000cr has gone to BJP. Amit shah, finance minister were caught lying in defence of the bills. This has caused huge damage to the fighting corruption story. Obviously there is black money floating around, and that will be more prevalent. In New India everything is for sale - MLAs, MPs, Lawyers, Media and more... C: Increasing censorship and curtailing of civil rights 1. Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Bill (BSB), 2023 - it could enable overreach, threaten civil liberties, and strain the criminal justice system. expanded police custody periods and a broad definition of terrorism. 2. The Telecommunications Act, 2023 - potentially enabling indiscriminate surveillance and eroding privacy by extending government control over online communications. 3. The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2023 This controversial bill gave more powers to the Lieutenant Governor over the elected Delhi government. an attack on federalism and undermining of democracy. 4. The Data Protection Bill, 2023 This bill aimed to regulate digital personal data processing within and outside India. Concerns were raised over potential privacy violations and overreach by the government. 5. The Post Office Bill, 2023 - authorized interception of articles transmitted via India Post. Critics argued it perpetuated colonial-era practices and could infringe on fundamental rights. Censorship - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FKGtEBPytA D. PMLA - Another draconian change to target people and opposition parties the modifications were made to the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in India in 2018 We see the concerns playing out in cases of Aap leaders where they are jailed without proper evidence and relieves bodies 1. Overreach and threat to civil liberties: The 2018 amendments brought several new categories like chartered accountants, company secretaries, cost accountants under the purview of PMLA reporting requirements. this amounted to overreach and threaten client-professional confidentiality and civil liberties. 2. Broad definition of offenses: The 2018 amendments added some new offenses like those under the Prevention of Corruption Act to the list of scheduled offenses under PMLA. Some experts felt this gave too broad a definition to money laundering offenses. 3. Retrospective application: There were concerns raised about the retrospective application of certain provisions of the amended PMLA to cases that arose before the 2018 amendments came into force. This was seen by some as violating principles of natural justice. 4. Potential misuse: this could potentially be misused by authorities for harassment, especially against political opponents or to settle scores 5. Lack of safeguards: there were inadequate safeguards built in against potential overreach, harassment or violation of rights by authorities.

It doesn't matter who comes, what matters is if you made the right decision and try for what's right.

But when it's required to cover corruption all parties will come together. https://carnegieendowment.org/2018/02/06/don-t-believe-bjp-and-congress-claims-that-they-re-cleaning-up-poll-funding-pub-75458

Great write up, everyone should read it with an open mind and understand. Our love for the country is much bigger than love/support for any party or individual.

Atlassian TCxnorGTFO Apr 9

We are aware that your love for a certain religion surpasses that of the country. You should follow your own advice.

Marqeta ToxicMangr Apr 9

Sorry for expecting "open mind" and "thinking" from you. Aap lage rahiye.

Given the corruption level in india, it will be terrible if one party gets all power without any significant opposition. That's what I feel BJP is trying to do. The freedom of speech in india is long gone anyways.

Atlassian TCxnorGTFO Apr 9

Freedom of speech was never there. Hate speech laws were applied to silence dissent.

Thrive Market ssrndy Apr 9

Freedom of speech was always there in Manmohan singh time anybody could have said anything and was never termed anti national or supporting other religion. Now you cannot say anything about modi. People are scared to even say anything.

Intel arEn05 Apr 9

I understand the games government is playing but I am scared to say these things openly. That’s the sad state!

Thrive Market ssrndy Apr 9

When you only list cons of everything how can you ask the readers to have an open kind ? First you be open minded, list both pros and cons, give an unbiased score of how beneficial/harmful the decision is and then expect the viewers to be unbiased. Every action/rule has negative effects and you are already biased towards only the negatives.

Okay fair, what's the pro for killing democracy in India? Did people ask for that specifically? He wants more than a vote from you. He wants to control the ideology of entire country. People who are free understand there is nothing more important. not even a temple.

Google datamd Apr 10

ROTFl, killing democracy in India?? The opposition leader is 55 year old oaf, who has not earned a single rupee of his own. Because you are idle in opendoor, I should vote out Modi and invite more bomb blasts on me??

Chime donddon Apr 9

This is probably the last partial election happening in India.
