Be grateful you weren’t one of the millions of Jews turned away by the world when seeking refuge from the Holocaust. Millions of Jews were expelled not only from Europe but also surrounding Arab nations, and Israel was the only place they could call home. You can absolutely criticize the government, but to oppose Israel’s right to exist is ignorant and dangerous.
You don’t know the history of Israel then. That’s not how Israel was created. It was created with terrorism, by bombing Palestinian villages, massacres (the likes of Deir Yassin massacre), and then forcing nearly 1 million people out of their homes.
Jews have always been endemic and have always lived in Israel. In the 1800s a large influx of Jews was the result of the start of the Zionist movement, which was directly the result of antisemitism faced in Europe. Were there injustices that occurred? Yes. Palestinians were forced from their homes in parts of the country. And for that there need to be some form of reparations. But to accuse Israel of indiscriminate bombing and terrorism without the context of what occurring at the time is straight misinformation. All surrounding nations attacked with the intent of wiping us off the face of the earth. Israel attempted time and time again to come to a peaceful agreement with Palestine. Each time they rejected and made another bid to destroy Israel. Both sides have done wrong and neither is innocent. But to ignore history is truly evil. I hope for a future where Palestinians have their own land and we live in peace, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
What Israel is doing since last 70 years to Palestine’s ? They are treating them the same way as west has treated them during so called holocaust. Do you know food to Gaza was also controlled before this tension started , they used to allow food per person calorie count . Muslims never oppressed Jews in the history of Islamc rule whether it was 700 years of Muslim rule in Spain or when Muslims controlling Jerusalem nor during ottomon empire . Palestinians ELECTED Hamas. And what have they accomplished for them over the 20 years they have been in power? I feel for the Palestinian people who are trapped but this is an elected body on behalf of their people. This elected body doesn’t recognize Israel as people let alone someone to seek legitimate peace with. Israel is not innocent but this attack deserves a fierce response to get rid of Hamas, then try and find a path to peace through a different government of the Palestinians
Israel is a functioning democracy and decided to keep on treating Palestinians as they do for decades, even as they were warned about what would ensue. Now the prediction is coming true. I don't think it's the people who voted for Hamas who are mostly to blame here.
Because their government (Hamas) does not recognize Israel’s right to exist. They have not sought peace- Hamas has held their own people hostage. What if Mexico elected a cartel to run their country who had the same sentiment towards Americans and America? How would we treat them?
Now is not the time to argue for Palestine or against Israel, it’s the time to come together against Hamas. Everything y’all are doing now right after what happened in Israel just loses the credibility that Hamas is an independent terrorist organization. And further justifies Israel in fucking Gaza up. And it further reduces support for Palestine. Seeing protests for Palestine at this time tells me everything I need to now.
I am not even bothered by symmetry or non symmetry, my values teach me that anyone who butchers kids and women in cold blood and play with dead bodies have to be thrown out of the world. Gaza kids dying is collateral ( after warning and time given wise people should go away) ideally in a good world the gazan should be killing Hamas after this kind of brutality if its not happening and u are sheltering these bastards u r the problem as well.
