I got offer from DBS Bank in Singapore. Have you ever heard about this company? TC: 120K
Don't
It's one of the biggest banks in Asia, and also the most tech savvy. I'd be able to comment further depending on role.
It’s UX design role.
Do you already live and work in Singapore? Deets about the offer?
I am from Singapore, it is the main bank people use here. Don’t think it is tech savvy though
Which bank do you think is more tech savvy?
I feel that non local banks like goldman and credit suisse are better technically. Just my personal opinion though
Seriously guys. Please stop moving to Singapore with these low salaries! It's just lowering the employment market. Ask them at least 13k SGD per month salary
That's high, any math behind the number?
I have a friend who is a nanotech engineer. He is a new grad. His base after tax is 8k. He gets 30 days annual leave. Any extra hour he puts in he gets paid double. Plus the annual bonus. Not to mention this is the beginning of his career. For SWEs tho, if you make 10k a month, you'll earn 9k after tax. You're already making less than a new grad of another engineering field. On top of that there are other alternative countries where you can make 9k SGD equivalent(6500 USD, 8500 CAD) with far less experience. Accepting low ball offers like this one will decline SWE expat salaries in Singapore. Singapore is a tax haven. It's pretty damn hard to make over 10k USD in USA with 180k USD salary. But you can make 10k USD salary with 180k SGD
YOE?
