What makes so many Southeast Asians have an inferiority complex towards East Asians?
Let’s say you signed an offer at HubSpot and found out weeks later you’d be getting an offer from Airbnb. Would you continue with HubSpot or consider the Airbnb offer? Assume that the Airbnb offer is 15-20% higher. Positions are senior level. Important factors: 1. Career growth 2. Job security 3. Compensation Previous TC: 250K
+1 here, these companies would drop you in a heartbeat so I would recommend going what best suites you
Both companies have voluntarily laid off their employees, you owe them nothing! Maximize your TC and go forth
Airbnb has very limited to none job growth. Top tier TC and job stability. WLB is great or could be bad depending on team. Layoffs could happen anytime at any company. I believe most companies are not PIP/layoff factories barring major events. Google had a great run for 20+ years with no layoffs and laid off last year. Airbnb laid off when the pandemic hit and bookings dropped to zero in 2020 before rebounding.
Thanks for the comment. Do you think my career will stagnate if I go to Airbnb? How hard is the promotion from senior to staff?
If you have the chops, and can advocate for your work, expect 3 years.
News said hubspot is about to be acquired by Google?
Yeah, not sure if that’s actually going to happen though. Would there be any real upside to joining HubSpot and getting acquired by Google?
Acquisition usually means a fairly large stock price bump. See tableau as an example.
You got the verbal offer?
You owe none of these companies a god damn thing. Choose what seems best for you.
