Culture At tableau ( Tableau offer)
What is the work culture at tableau ? What are typical working hours ? How are teams doing ? Do they sponsor visa ? Asking for a friend who got an offer from tableau . Right now working in one small old start up kind of company having highly flexible work timings , cool work culture , less work load . Tableau pays 20% more but finance is not the sole reason of moving. Any inputs ?
Heard WLB is great at Tableau.
They are so full of their own shit!! I interviewed with them once in 2011. The whole company seemed to be like a frat house with obnoxious people who thought that Tableau was the second coming of Jesus. This turned me off so much. Besides I think it might be my interview panel but we just did not gel well together. In all of my career that was the worst interview panel and the worst interview I had given. Knew I was not getting the offer and when they told me that they wanted to wait for someone else, I gave them an honest feedback on my experience. I don’t think they cared a frak about it. Don’t think I cared a frak that I did not get an offer. Ever since then, Tableau left such a bad taste in my mouth that afterwards I have their recruiter reach out multiple times, but it never made it back on my list of companies to work for
Sounds like you didn't interview with people that upheld the culture, sorry about that. My experience was a 180 from this. Lots of smart, yet humble people. Some are very passionate about the product they are building, which is good. We share that passion with our customers.
I interviewed around the same time too and it was one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had. Didn’t help most hiring managers had never been anything other than IC’s in their careers at that point.
Generally good, specifics depend on the team like most places. The offer should have all details on the visa-- your friend should get them from the recruiter not second have from blind.
Definitely depends on the team. There is some horrible well-entrenched management there which can make life pretty miserable. Try to get an honest assessment of your leadership stack before you sign.
In my experience, great people, great culture, and great WLB. Everyone believes in the product.
