Goldman or Walmart Labs
I have offers from goldman and Walmart India. Goldman offer - 60 + 16 = 76Lpa Walmart offer - 58 + 14 + (25L RSU/4) = 78 Lpa YOE - 12 Years Please suggest what would be a better choice . Thanks in advance.
Goldman will leave you with very kess exit option. Tech is a midoffice or backoffice job in banks etc. Why become second class citizen when the oay is also not different.

No..nothing is pure tech. But walmart does tech at a much bigger scale and retail has been quick and and smart ti adopt tech. Banks have lot of inertia and there tech is a drag. PS: I was in a hedge fund, even that is a career suicide for a tech guy.
I would go with Walmart, I hope u have IN5 position which is apt. Also Walmart refreshers are good.
Yes its for IN5. Agree for stock options. But concerned about wlb there. Any idea about wlb and appraisals in walmart.
Wlb is okay but not as good as MS or Google. You will have late night calls twice a week.
Current tc? Which team in walmart and role. Wlb and culture at walmart is not at all good. Don't know about goldman
Take Walmart. You will have good chance to understand e-commerce/retail tech. GS is back office heavy. You will write small tools and services with less scale. If you are passionate about tech join Walmart.

I have worked in GS previously and it was Marcus division. Tech stack was all latest and the work was pretty good. You can find ex faang there. I find it much better than Walmart and their shitty managers. Plus, walmart is on hire spree and have reduced the interview levels. I guess you may have find the difference in interviews between the two. The only negative point is its bank but it's ahead from other banks and their brand has market values too.
What is your role SDE or DE or product?
Staff Engineer. Technical role, design, architecture and coding.
Than IN5 level coding will be less. Ask for more stocks if possible n jb too
What's your current TC and split?
At your YoE, I would suggest to choose the domain you are most probably interested to work on. That shall help you use your rich (& vast accrued) experience to create excellent outcomes for your career and company. This is more relevant as both Goldman & Walmart are solid MNCs, and the pay is almost similar.
Thanks for your suggestions. For me both the domains are new,as have never worked on either of them. Walmart has good stock options. But have heard wlf is very bad in Walmart. Same goes for GS wlb as well. So a bit confused.
