What natural remedies? 45y old male. Exercising 3-4 times a week - mostly resistance. But in Covid rested too much. Had high reading in 2019 as well. Triglycerides- 90. HDL cholesterol- 42. Doc suggested me to take cholesterol medicine. But I hate taking medicine everyday. Doing one hour cardio from last week with high intensity in the mornings. Watching diet( veg stew, white egg omelette, salmon, nuts, fruits, green tea , garlic)Other than cholesterol everything else is normal and healthy. Someone suggested to take red yeast rice capsules. Is that ok? Would like to reduce cholesterol naturally. Any other health tips. Please help. TC: $450k
Following this post for recommendations also. Early 30s here and have quite high cholesterol.. Tried supplements and cutting down oily meals but instead increased.
You should do more cardio and resistance training for 30 years. Eat healthy. Stop smoking and alcohol for few months.Don’t go after medicine route.
Sounds like all you need is patience. Give your workout and diet changes some time. The results will be way healthier and lasting than a pill
Also this. Even if you take medicine/supplements, it still takes some months before you see decent changes
Planning to check after 3 months with everything in force.
Just take the medicine. Better than trying a million herbs and then having a heart attack because none of them worked.
This is what I am concerned. But want to try healthy options for 3 months and then decide.
Nightshade is natural. So is cyanide. Why are you scared of widely-used cholesterol pills?
What is your body fat level? Losing fat will help even if you’re already exercising.
Proclub measured I think close to high 20s
good fat e.g. fish oil. Once your HDL is up, you will see others down Also avoid simple carbs, like white rice
Fish oil
Taking fish oil everyday .. two capsules. For close to 4 years. Along with multi vitamin.
I take 3600mg , 4 caps a day as one of my friend suggested it has to be high enough. I did see improvement within 6 months with such high intake.
It may be counterintuitive, but all beef diet or strict keto will do the job. You can get keto blood tests on Amazon. Dr. Berg on youtube is a great resource.
Doing intermittent fasting already. No red meat and stopped alcohol. Two meals and snacking fruits and nuts only.
It’s counterintuitive because it’s not true lmao
If it’s mostly genetic then diet alone might not work. Yeah I’d say keep trying for a bit and maybe just try avoiding all animal based products. If that doesn’t work then medication might be the way to go.
Grandparents 80+ with no health issues. Parents are healthy. After 70s mother is diabetic and doctor prescribed cholesterol medicine.
