Vmware or Cisco which is better in terms of base pay and bonus?
Moved from Cisco to VMware. Work money culture - everything is brilliant at VMware

Hands down VMware. Cisco pay is shit, raises non-existent, bonus/RSU's a joke if they even exist. Vmware has great pay and actually innovating. Cisco just innovates in having more bugs and poor code quality than anybody else.
Moved to VMW last year after 12 yrs at Cisco. 40% comp increase and got a 6% raise this month. Everything about the company is much better than Cisco. Beautiful PA campus, excellent benefits, fun events (they actually spend some money on their employees - what a concept), great WLB. I still work from home a lot. I couldnโt be happier that I made the move.
By far VMware...in every imaginable category. Not even in the same realm! Besides cloud, there now aiming at Cisco business too. People in-the-know say that comparing the competing products is like comparing a bicycle to a Ferrari. VMware is going to eat their lunch like a hungry angry Dwayne Johnson/Rock entering an elementary school cafeteria.
Cisco named the best place to work in the World!
Go VMware for pay. Cisco refuses to be pay competitive or retain employees. Everyone I know that made the move (which is a lot of people) LOVE it and are making alot more money. Most would have stayed however if cisco actually wanted to pay people properly. I'm waiting on a rec to open in my location and I'll be making the move as well.
