cisco vs. msft
Looking at an oppertunity at Cisco. G11 base 190k bonus 15% stock 160k/4yrs sign on 19k Is there room to negotiate? I saw this same backage on blind from 2019, so feeling a bit lowballed. Btw, I had thought Cisco pays less than Msft, but im getting a 50% pay raise. Is Cisco generally better paid than Msft? Or am i just that lowballed at Msft?

Cisco also lays off twice a year. Raises are unusual apart from promo. My teammate got a 3% raise on promo from G6 to G8 and only 20k refreshers at G8.

congrats! location ? YOE ? Yes, cisco pays better than microsoft. Reasons : cisco is trying to retain talent and recent salaries are just too high and they know if they lowball , people will leave. Cisco stock has been up from past few months which is unusual for hw companies. That is the reason 160k is doable but it would have been a lot if stock would have been trading at 30-40 USD
