Amazon SDE 3 comp
Had a phone conversation recently with an Amazon recruiter. She had me down as an SDE 3 candidate. I asked the range. This is for bay area. "Roughly 325 - 375, one person recently came in really high at about 400." Just thought I'd share.
It is possible as sign on bonus for the first 2 years.
You won't get 150k/year bonus.
@hkRbq1 again, where are you getting this from? It would help if you share your history with Amazon in the Bay Area (the subject of discussion). I know SDE2s in the Bay Area getting 65k/year sign-on. Bay Area also does not have the 160k base limit that we have in Seattle. For the right candidate, especially SDE3, you could easily get a TC of 250/350k right from the get-go.
As a tech recruiter at Amazon I will tell you that hkf is straight wrong and is trying to disseminate false information. SDE3 payband is actually really competitive in the market and the 325-375 range for SDE3 in the Bay Area is accurate.
I was talking based on what I've seen a year-two ago in Seattle. Nice to hear that numbers climbed up.

SDE 2s are getting more than that.
No way. Year 1 and 2 will be in low 200s for sure due to 5-15-40-40 vesting schedule. Not sure if you'll ever reach 350.
Don’t know where you are getting that. I’m an SDE3 in Amazon Seattle. TC 320k.
Probably because stock raised 50%? Will see how much you get on refresher.
