Deteriorating mental health at Amazon

It's been 9 months as SDE 2 at Amazon and I've already swithched teams. Now I'm unable to cope up with working here because of the following reasons :- 1. Struggling with Internal tools and legacy Coral Services. People in my org don't care about NAWS. I'm sick of Apollo, MAWS, Coral, LPT and internal websites written in Ruby. What's wrong with Amazon ? Overwhelming amount of proprietary knowledge and non existant wikis. 2. Tired of fighting with 10 different teams for fetching data and writing ETL Jobs. Tired of fighting in Design Reviews for saving even $10. Frugality is the worst LP. Everyone here is nitpicking genius but no one cares about writing optimized code or doing the best thing. 3. People here will judge you by metric like number of CR revisions and days to ship CR. 4. Increased number of SAS (1000+) Risk, Policy Engine/Shepheard risks, Resolving VS conflicts is nightmare if you never onboarded to Gordian Knot. Significant time in Sprint is consumed to resolve SAS Risks. 5. Non Tech Manager doesn't care about all these things and looks like I'll be stack ranked. I cry during weekends with the fear of loosing job. 1:1 with my manager give me anxiety everytime. We don't talk about career development and this guy is asking me to Return to Office ASAP and demotivating me in every aspect. He keeps talking about Earning Trust, Frugality all the time. He even manipulated our opinion of doing WFH from out Director and written that everyone will return to office from 3rd Jan. 6. I've plenty of PTO left but If I take PTO then it'll give me more anxiety because I'll fail to complete the Sprint Tasks. 7. No one in my team gives a shit about writing Runbook/Readme files for N number of packages since they are here from the inception. No help from them getting any wiki or quip. Even no KT is given to me. I've to search their old slack chats and search for wikis by my own. I'm tired of Amazon's culture and I've Google Phone Screen scheduled on next month. Any tips for the interview ? I can solve leetcode mediums, sometimes with little hints and I'm good at solving Graph & Tree. But I'm bad at DP, Probability problems. I've never done codeforces. I'm a mediocre problem solver. I lost all my confidence. I'm 25 and Amazon is my 4th company. I've 3 years of experience. Does it look bad if I keep hopping job like this ? #burnout #depression #mentalhealth #amazon #suicidal

Most of the problems you are discussing are common throughout Amazon.

For 4th, have you ever tried resolving VS conflicts in cases where gk fails? Lucky you. Anyway, I'm leaving Amazon for the same reasons

Was feeling demotivated about my work at Google but this has made me feel grateful so thanks OP. As for tips on cracking G I'd recommend getting 2k leetcode contest rating and comfortably solving Google tagged problems.

Thanks for the tip. I've solved pnelty of Google tagged problems till now. I'll keep doing that. I don't have leetcode premium so I used VS Code extension to get Google tagged questions. Would you also suggest to solve hard problems which involves usage of advanced data structures such as Segment Tree, Binomial Heap, KD Tree ? I'm listing down all areas DP, Greedy, Graph & Tree, Number Theory, Combinatorics, Back Tracking, Branch & Bound, String Matching, Probability , Primality Please let me know if I'm missing anything

Fuck this place! I just hate that I've to depend on my toxic co-worker to get things done & I just don't like asking them help or even working with them. Was trying to team change, my to be new manager reached out my current skip & now in Focus! Rotting hell!!
