did intel lost all inovation?

used to be an intel fanboy until recently i am looking to diy a workstation. saw threadripper bench marks kick the crap out of 10980xe and w-3175x. and intel still on 14nm+++. my last skylake i7 was 14mn and at the time amd stonks were a couple of dollars their cpus are so bad that intel has to give them money to keep up the operation. intel spend a significant r&d on financial sheet. wtf happend;(

And now it is going fabless 😥

Intel pair up with tsmc?

Tesla 🐉⛈ Feb 18, 2020

I’m sure they will come back with something. Every time AMD has pushed something innovative, ie Athlon X2 - Intel eventually hit back hard (Conroe/core2duo). Intel also hired Jim Keller awhile back...

Facebook baller272 OP Feb 18, 2020

Hopefully, amd’s cpu is getting significantly better every year with no sign of plateauing

Analog Devices ebbc68 Feb 18, 2020

This is just a cycle. Intel and AMD are literally the only players in this segment. Intel will come back. AMD won thanks to it's multi-chip modules...

Intel dude_007 Feb 18, 2020

What’s the whole point without competition?

Intel 😎 diehard Feb 18, 2020

Intel will come back and it will be hard for AMD to respond back to chipzila.

Intel K.Brzanich Feb 18, 2020

We need a third player...why not Facebook comes up with its own x86 chip? Move fast and break some motherboards

Facebook baller272 OP Feb 18, 2020

Who knows we might move fast build our new dcs with epycs 128 core supreme power;)

Intel K.Brzanich Feb 19, 2020

I really hope you do...our FB team needs a shake up

Analog Devices ebbc68 Feb 18, 2020

It takes hundreds of not thousands of engineers to design a processor these days.

Intel MnDc31 Feb 19, 2020

Give another 12 wks.

Verizon WYSIWYGGG Feb 20, 2020

AMD long, they have been consistently putting out high performing CPU’s within all price points.

The HW stack is capital and time intensive. It’s not like you hit commit and check whether you results are good. Sometimes it takes decades to perfect an architecture. NVIDIA was built over 15 years and they are still improving.
