as if millions of voices suddenly cried
🤣 well “go woke or go broke” has come back in ugly mode for Disney.
What do you mean go woke. What did they do
@northrop not sure if you’ve noticed, but everyone is doing layoffs; what’s going woke got to do with it?
The CEO is the worst for Disney.
For a disney lover, yes the absolute worst. For a share holder...he's doing what they are asking. He's brought in cost effectiveness that Disney fans don't love.
This guy missed on margins. He is supposed to be an operational guru and failed. The stock has gone nowhere since he took over. He needs to be fired.
Mickey mouse out on the streets
Mouse outta the house
If I had my own company with the need to cut down some employees, I’d to it right now. The outside world won’t question your company future. This is the best climate to trim your fat for any company. Disney is a joke of a company on the inside. Are you surprised?
If they don’t cut staff then shareholders revolt. So now is mandatory to prop up stock. However real layoffs will happen in 2023 when earnings really turn down. These are just the appetizers by companies. This round cuts the fat, but still assumes a good economy. Next round will be how they respond to missing earnings in first two quarters next year.
If we're going down netflix, paramount, amc, and hbo max will come down with us. They are bleeding themselves out with large scale content but a fraction of the amount of return they are getting to cover streaming. Disney can afford the risk, but the others not so much especially with netflix paying out what 300k-400k tc to their engineers?
Not surprised. Saw sooo many Disney job postings during the pandemic
Burn the entire thing to the ground. Make all woke producers and actors unemployable. The amount of damage those people did to great franchises is criminal.
Leadership won’t be affected, unfortunately folks at the bottom will. Disney is rough company, they layoff all the times.
They've just about priced out all the middle class Disney fanatics and now the parks are starting to lose money. They've made their bed and now they've crapped in it.
I don’t blame you for thinking this is an issue with the parks division; however, I expect most (probably all) of the layoffs to be only in streaming. The parks are still performing really well
Lol Parks had the best quarter ever. Love how people come without knowledge and spread shit.
All signs I see point towards an impending doom. Let's hope we all will have the strength to weather this storm.
