I had 2nd coderpad for data engineer position at Goldman. Was supposed to be 2 questions but I didn’t even have time to look at the 2nd question. 1st question was a LC hard. Took me 45 mins to solve. All test cases passed and I think I did a decent job explaining my logic. However instead of using rest of 15 min to go to 2nd problem, interviewer probed me about the 1st question regarding my solution and also asked if I could explain the logic on how I would approach a brute force solution (not code it out). I understood how the brute force solution worked in my head but because the only thing I was thinking of was “well sh*t I have to finish the 2nd problem in 10 min and he hasn’t even let me see it yet...”, I got nervous and stumbled across my words in explaining. I wasn’t even fully able to explain the brute force approach. But at that point the interviewer said time was up, I was still able to ask any questions I had. What’s the likelihood of me getting a virtual on-site? Tbh I don’t have high hopes :( #goldmansachs #dataengineerinterview
