The strong electric magnetic field created around the high voltage line is not good for you. Long term exposure will cause brain cancer. Also, in a hurricane hits your area and knocks down the power line, it will fall on your house and fry everything.
I have a power line running behind my house and have researched EMF or specifically very low frequency EMF thoroughly. I even obtained a copy of EMF analysis from the utility company. Bottom line - no link has been found between these lines and risks of cancer (leukemia specifically). Household appliances generate much higher EMFs than these power lines and pose no threat.
When researching a topic like this it is important to bear in mind that disproving a negative is really really hard.
Yes if you use a meter to check kitchen appliances generate much higher EMF. So even if there is a link... there’s other sources to worry about more than power lines.
well it will be difficult sell your home later - mind that.

I wouldn’t do it... I’ve seen several ‘random’ diagnoses of leukemia of kids who live under power lines. Call me crazy but it ain’t worth the risk to me.
