Which best describes your intentions re: living in San Francisco in the next 12 months? I'm referring to the city itself, not the Bay Area in general. Asking in order to guage whether to buy/sell a home now versus later. #housing #sanfrancisco
Lived in SF, would almost never move back (although I could be bought)
Alameda is literal shithole
At least Biloxi is pretty much the only place in the country that's dumber than California...
SF has the best looking smart materialistic women in the US. I cannot leave SF. I live in the Marina District. I also hang out with my neighbor Elizabeth Holmes. She is a blast.
Literal commie shithole
That's my nickname for your mom!
Lived there in 2020 thinking it was an interesting move, ended up being an interestingly stupid move
Good to work in SF and rent. But live in the suburbs if you want to own. Progressive politics destroying city.
To be fair, I think most people on both sides would agree that tech business has succeeded *despite* SF policy, not *because* of it. Sure, the policies may draw the young and educated, but the policies themselves are anti-business. The Bay Area's weather, natural beauty, and great universities are probably the biggest reasons why the talented are here. The companies and the jobs came second.
Ok, not every progressive policy is bad for business but they tend to be. High taxes. Rent control. Heavy regulation. Then there's the palpable progressive spite towards business - the same human instinct that makes it emotionally satisfying to root against the favorites and for the underdogs, so it's understandable, but spite is blinding and is bad for policy-making. For the record, I am disgusted by Republican economic policy these days, on top of their always-odious social agenda.

lived here a handful of years and it is definitely one of the best cities in the world. but, time marches on and what my family needs now is not aligned with city life, so looking to move.
Amen to this. Although I'm not sure it's me (and my family) maturing versus SF becoming less desirable over the last 20 yrs.
Same. Where are you looking to move? Thatâs been the hardest part.
Iâve lived in different neighborhoods in SF and the atmosphere can really go from heaven to literal hell. I âsettled downâ in a pretty neighborhood and love it so far, I would not go anywhere else at the moment. Nowhere else I can find a city which is walkable and with nice almost-village charm, and close to so many stunning natural places for weekend trips. In a world where NYC would be surrounded by beautiful nature I would totally move there though, as the cultural landscape is poor here. That being said, when time comes to have kids, there is zero chance I will stay here. Too dangerous, and also I would prefer protect my kids from wokism at least in the early age.
Cultural landscape is poor in NYC ? Uhm, sir have you heard about the literal Central Park?
@Carl, theyâre referring to SF having a poor cultural landscape not NYC
Have been living here for 3 years. Itâs been a shit show. Abort your plan !!
Literally, right?
Yes
