Generally speaking, what are the pros and cons. TC: ~300k Potential TC: >350k
Which company?
You seem confused. TC IS the level...
Even when it comes for moving from management to individual contributor for 50 to 100 % more money ?
Duh
Who gives a shit about level/title. TC is king
A con that you have to work harder to get the level. However I've seen good managers and teams where downlevelers received a promo in a year.
It will take its toll on you psychologically. Money doesn’t matter as much in your day to day, it’ll feel like a demotion in responsibility. But if you operate at that next level it’ll fix itself.
TC over title always.
Depends on the company. For google or amazon the promation to L5 and L6 (L6/L7 at amzn) is really hard. As a result you may end up with less money over time. Also you will be really annoyed at all the younger people at higher levels then you who are not better then you. This does depend on how bad the downlevel is. Microsoft L63 to Google L4, for example, isn't really that big of a down level.
Less responsibility and more TC? Sounds like a good deal.
That's such a low increase, is it even worth moving? Rule of thumb is 30% increase at least.
Take it! If you’re good at your job, you will level up soon anyway and get another bump.
