i'm considering switching to dropbox because i've heard that dropbox paid pretty well. something that confuses me is that how are they still in business? i don't see how customers might choose dropbox over gsuite or one drive/office 365. such undiversified portfolio of product line and unsustainable business model is reflected on their stock price. google may paid less in the short term but at least i can count on GSU to grow which is not the case with dropbox. am i missing something? it would be appreciated if someone at dropbox can provide some insights. thx! Great Pay, Great Culture (getting worse though) Great WLB are the best benefits of Dropbox!! Plus the impact of your work is pretty good in most teams. Been here 2+ yrs. Tech stack is over complicated by all ex-Stanford ex-MIT ex-G/F people. Many smart n humble coworkers (though I see many leaving these days) Not sure how much better it will be compared to Google apart from Pay.
Why are people leaving
Low morale due to recent layoffs as expected. Plus I see many leaving who have been here for 3-4yrs which is also expected and happens all the time in large companies. But since dbx is small it comes out as bad. 3-4 yrs is pretty normal for tech industry i feel.
How does it compare to MSFT? I’m looking to jump soon.
If you don't want to be in mercy of no support then it's Dropbox. I agree though that they can't beat big names in files sharing anytime soon.
