Does anyone else think there’s a relationship between being inherently good at games and trading ability? I’ve noticed that all my friends who built successful trading careers (trading full-time for themselves or employed by an HFT firm) all seem to be very adept at designing strategies for games that we play together. My wife, for example, easily carries our income with her day trading, despite having learned only a few years ago. But even back in college, I’d always noticed how good she was at learning new board games that we played with friends. The other thing I’ve observed is that these types of people seem to be really good at learning board and card games in general, but not necessarily all video games (e.g. good at League of Legends but bad at Smash Bros). Obviously this is all anecdotal evidence, but I’m wondering if anyone else has at least noticed something similar.
Yes, smart people are good in smart stuff
I’m very good at most of the games, indoor, outdoor, board, console and PC. At least Diamond level in most of competitive games. Coming to trading, I bring down companies by investing in them. What ever invest in, drops immediately until I loose hope and make a sell, next day 8%. Held BABA for long time sold just last week and look at it now. When S&P500 made 20% I had 6-7%. I’m very safe when in comes to investing but my timing has been terribly wrong.
Yes agreed.
