Is the overall job market for SWEs in a better place than it was last year/earlier this year? I've been holding off on applying because of all the news I read about SWEs applying to hundreds of jobs and getting little to no responses.
Horrible market
yea it’s rough. the main difference is the big companies used to hire anyone that met the bar. then sort out what you do later. this gave you multiple options. now all are hiring for specific roles and there’s several people in the pipeline for each one. so you don’t just have to beat the bar. you have to beat the other candidates as well.
It’s a lot better. Everyone is hiring and I got 10 different offers to decide from.
I keep hiring that its awful right now tho?
