YOE: 2.5 (less than 1 in Business Development) Base: € 43,000 Variable: 10% Level: 21 I moved to Dublin a few months ago, and I love the company so far. My gripe: I have yet to get a clearer picture how it works in terms of prospects/ salary increases. I am not even sure how my current salary compares to competitors'; though, to be fair, it appears in line. About me: I work in the Ireland office, doing Account Management. Dublin is very nice, but I feel as if I'd need 1.5/ 2 times the salary I have to afford a comfortable lifestyle (housing expenses are the main culprit). I also noticed that, within eBay, there's a lot of horizontal movement -- e.g., people moving from Sales to L&D, and vice versa. And I mean, *a lot*. I am talking about people who stay 15 years in the company, doing Merchant Support, then Account Management, then something else, just rotating. I also see Account Managers staying in the same role for years and years. Very few business school grads around, even less from the top institutions. (Could definitely be that those who had business school degrees end up higher in the org chart.) All in all, vertical progression appears iffier. I have been reassured that "good-to-great performance" will lead to salary increases and career progression. But what should I expect in terms of timeline/ evolution of my compensation and roles? Assuming I put in the performance, how long until I reach the comfort zone -- which to me is something like € 90,000 year/ gross? Better busting my rear-end and shooting for team lead (22)/ or people manager (23+)? Will it change in an individual role with a couple of years? tl;dr: is my salary reasonable? How could it change assuming good-to-great performance on my end? #ebay #ireland #career
Hello! I know this is a 2021 post. I also live in Dublin and I would say that you could be earning way more than this. 2.5 YOE would grant u around 50k in a salary negotiation for account manager.
