eBay front end phone interview
Hello front end community, I had front end role interview(phone interview) at EBay today. I felt it was very different from other interviews I took before. 1. If you enter a URL how does browser process it under the hood. He was not happy with my answer. Not sure if the expectation was to explain about DNS server and tcp/ip protocol. 2. calculator design in react. I was asked to explain the functionality and folder structure in react. He gave me a calculator image. I did CSS and HTML I was about to start functionality part but he said my design should look exactly same as the image he provided including the colour height and width. It was more inclined to test CSS skills only. Interview went really bad. I was prepared for BFE.Dev and leetcode kind of questions. Is there any good material to prepare for such questions? (React UI coding and CSS specifically). Appreciate if anyone can tell what was expected for 1st question. #ebay #frontend #interview#tech

First of all sorry the interview went badly - dude I totally feel for you because front end interviews seem so random and can never pinpoint how or what they’ll ask. It sucks cause front end devs are expected to do LC too on top of all that front end bs Wish you better luck on the next one. I feel like under normally circumstances you could’ve done well on the interview but they just kinda dicked
