I'm sure plenty of people on blind have to deal with this given the number of SWEs and gamers there are here. I was an avid gamer my whole childhood and it's starting to show. My left wrist starter hurting last year from all the high apm games like AOE and League. It's been manageable with a copper brace and a night brace, but now my right wrist has started to go as well and it's so much harder to deal with since it hurts from even just typing this post out on my phone. I'm not sure what to do here. I have two braces as well and ice both daily and take ibuprofen when it gets bad, but especially in the right wrist, it seems to only get worse. Planning to go see a doctor in a couple weeks, but just wondering if anyone has gotten over bad CT like this and still been able to work as a SWE. I've majorly cut back on gaming hours and try to stay away from the computer as much as I can, but there's only so much I can do on this end. I'm very young for this to be this bad. TC: 200k
Get ergonomic chair, mouse and keyboard
It's like Fold 3 phone has 500,000 bends before it fails. I guess we can use that in few months or years. See a doctor as soon as possible. They may provide medical grade braces. Surgery should be last resort
Having it and wearing braces almost 24 hours, not able to cure it but it’s stabilized now. Planning to do surgery in future.
Leave surgery as a last resort. If it’s not too bad you can recover from it. Get a Kinesis Advantage 2.
Rest completely for recovery. Then change everything about your ergonimics. Then exercise your fingers daily. I was even able to continue gaming after rrcovery from carpal tunnel, around 6 months
When you say completely rest, no computer usage at all? Can't work?
