Yelp leveling
Was informed I am getting an offer from Yelp and was wondering about the leveling structure. It was mentioned I was likely to get IC2. Anyone have info on what that means relative to other companies? Have a competing offer at Pinterest as well that is pending. YOE: 1.8
Can you share the Pintrest offer? Also, which one are you inclined to join?

I'm not saying Pinterest is a great company to join, but Yelp...
New grads out of college will typically join as IC1, and all new hires at IC1 are expected to progress to IC2 within 6mo to 1yr
What is the expected promo time from IC2 to IC3? Are the compensation bands well defined for levels or is the promo increase based on a %age of your current pay?
That is less well defined as the jump from IC2 to IC3 is much larger and there are various dimensions that you can work on to get there. We don't have visibility into the exact min/max values for the compensation bands

How was the interview experience in Pinterest compared to Yelp? Did you apply online or through referral?
Just applied online for both. No referrals. Yelp was 2 behavioural 1 system design and 1 algorithms/ds. Whereas Pinterest was 2 domain(web) and 2 algorithms/ds questions. Yelp was definitely easier.
Congrats on the offers OP! I am applying for Pinterest. So any tips/ suggestions ? Was there an online coding test or just phone interview & onsite?
