What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Hi, I joined on August 15, 2022, with 20,000 USD vesting per year. My stocks vested for 20,000 on August 15, 2023. Can someone explain to me whether, if I sell the stock, this is the amount I will receive, or will there be any taxation on the capital gains I made?" Also, applying the long term and short term taxation. TC:175k
I believe it’s 20% tax on long term capital gains and 37% on short term (i.e. selling stock within less than a year of vesting). It seems that you held it for at least a years, so your effective rate should be 20%, which comes upto somewhere around $1650 on $8500+ profit Edit: I misread your vesting date. You have to hold the stock until August 15 of this year to apply long term capital gain rate instead of short term
Math ain’t adding up. 20000 stocks per year? That means you make 4Mil in stocks itself with AMD at ~ $200.
I think he means $20k lol
Taxes as income, same as cash if you sell at vest.
