Please suggest innovative ways to get employee pulse through surveys
You can use https://www.15five.com to conduct surveys. *cough* But seriously why not a raffle? People love getting prizes and it's a lot cheaper than paying each person to complete the survey.
I wish our benefits and employee experience folks would solicit feedback. If folks aren't filling out your surveys, generally they must be happy with what they've got. Sometimes employees lose faith that the surveys will bear any fruit. Make sure you're always making the end results public when the surveys close. At the beginning of each new survey maybe include a retrospective of the last survey and actions that were taken as a result. If you're dealing with a bunch of engineers, they'll expect you to close the loop each time, or won't take you seriously the next time.
