I'm looking for a role at Uber and was contacted for a role at Uber ATG (Pittsburgh or SF). I also had my friend refer me for a role at UberEverything (NYC). I heard back from the recruiter saying I should just pursue the role I was referred to, but I want to be considered for ATG as well. My location pref is NYC but I'm more concerned about finding a role with growth opportunities. Can anyone speak to the culture in these different groups, where I would have a better chance of getting the job, and how Uber is at different locations. Any help is greatly appreciated :)
What kind of role at ATG? And what is your background?
I've been out of school for a couple years, and have been working as a backend engineer. I believe the role at Uber ATG would be similar (not robotics focused)
UberEverything is honestly the place to be right now
Bit surprised to hear; a couple of my ex colleagues seem pretty happy in ATG. But they are in perception areas with a focus on 3D computer vision.
Uber Eats is def doing some cool stuff and the NY team seems like a bunch of really good folks
Come to Pittsburgh! Self-drivers on the road and a beautiful city with lovely apartments just a few blocks from the Uber offices. No idea about the job and quality of work stuff there but it's a great location and you'll pay what NYC people think is a pittance for really nice digs.
Uber Everything NYC engineers are the smartest and brightest people I worked with in my Career
+1 for uber everything. it’s a great team with some substantial projects that span front end, back end and data science.
Did you end up going/interviewed at Uber ATG ? I was also contacted for the Pittsburgh location so curious for any info about that office.
UberEverything is one of the strongest teams at Uber regardless of location. You’ll definitely be challenged more there than other parts of the org
What is UberEverything?
