My brother is expecting an offer from Neudesic Bangalore for Sr. technical consultant. I wanted to know the culture overall and particularly in Bangalore office. What does the performance cycle look like? What are some of the good and bad things to be aware of? He is currently in a sweet spot at his present company, but there is not much personal growth. He particularly is finding it hard to get any sort of mentorship in his current company. What does that look like at Neudesic? They are also soon to be merged with IBM, does that mean there is a possibility of layoffs? Brother's current TC : 10lpa Neudesic offer : 20lpa YOE: 2.5
Cant speak for the India side, but on the US side, there are already layoffs, but it’s nothing out of the ordinary. Some of the pros and cons really just comes from consulting gigs in general. A lot of the times, the projects that you get is poorly managed and you might end up doing PM, BA, Dev work all in one. Then again, clients who has their shit together probably wouldn’t be trying to hire contractors. The pros is that you get a lot of freedom to do more than what you might get to do in a product company. Performance cycle is twice a year, and growth is pretty steady as long as you’re communicating with your manager well
