No diversity in fields outside tech

Hello. saying something that needs to be said. This is politically incorrect. But don't care about what people think. Some people these days have played the charade of how tech is dominated by Chinese, Korean and Indian men. My nephew is trying to enter these big asset management companies. The ENTIRE FINANCE AND ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPANT IS FULL OF RAMPANT NEPOTISM. Almost every where he goes, he gets to know that the role is filled by some white entitled frat boy whose father is a hedge fund manager or an investment banker. Is that fair?Yes, I am using the word "white" with great responsibility. He worked his ass off in University, received the directors medal. Has a 4.14 GPA. But regardless, he is never accepted into the circle. Whereas his classmantes with 3.00 GPAs and zero experience are getting those roles. While it is true that Asians are more visible in tech or consulting, it does not extend to other fields. We are made to do the hardwork. Whereas all the whitecollar management and executive roles in banking, finance and real estate, brokerage, fund analysis is tightly guarded by a lot of these White people who whine about "diversity" being unfair to them. Cut the hipocrisy, cut the B.S about how unfair others are. Look at yourself in the mirror and recognize your double standards. #whiteprivilege #endracism #enddiscriminationagainstnonwhites

Welcome to being a minority! That will always be an issue, and anyone who says otherwise, is probably white, there I said it too.

Nah I’m a brown Mexican and can acknowledge that the nepotism in tech is so rampant amongst some Asians that most other minorities just group Chinese and Indian men in with the whites in terms of class these days. There I said it.

American Express AX15 Jul 19, 2022

I am also brown Mexican and in Finance/Banking/Payments/BD type of roles White reigns King. I'm in that sector and I am the only brown guy in my extended team.

Damn that’s long…..

First thing a white person would say

That's what she said

You know why tech is the easiest space to put diversity quotas in? Cause old money caucasians aren’t interested in being SWEs. Only poor/middle class people want to be engineers. If you’re from a rich family you aren’t sweating leetcodes, you’re out there connecting with family “friends” for your next job.

Couldnt agree more.

Upstart xiJF61 Jul 19, 2022

That's why country clubs are 99% white people. It's a system that feeds itself.

Schneider National RoadtoDE Jul 19, 2022

Sooo your point is? Because I’m trying to figure out is you down for the cause or not ? 🤨

Apple TsuChienP OP Jul 19, 2022

I believe diversity helps everyone. I am just trying to point out the hypocrisy some privileged white dudes show when they say tech is against hiring whites. 90% of my STEM gradschool classmates were Asians. Who will admit that fact now?

Tesla 0bark30 Jul 19, 2022

What would you like, Asians dominating in every industry?

JPMorgan Chase DM=Dimon Jul 19, 2022

Can confirm. It's really awkward whenever we have big meeting/corp party because everyone else outside our in tech product team are yt wearing slacks, shirt and Patagonia.

Google zutU46 Jul 19, 2022

I don’t think tech is diverse at all

When we are in minority we play by your rules, when we are in majority we play by our rules. That seems to be the motto.

Twitter pxGx10 Jul 19, 2022

This is totally true in finance for sure. On the flip side, I've never seen a single white person working in an Asian restaurant

Amazon SavageMan Jul 19, 2022

tf is wrong with you?

Netflix razorlab Jul 19, 2022

I have never seen a white person working at Panda Express.

Oh no!

Microsoft underpayd Jul 19, 2022

While you are right, at the same time think if it would be easy for an American trying to succeed in any career in our countries of origin.

Booking.com gnikoob Jul 19, 2022

Asian companies in Asia are full of Asians.

Apple TsuChienP OP Jul 19, 2022

I can confirm that there are thousands of successful american entrepreneurs and companies that run successfully outside the U.S with U.S workers and execs. U.S companies have the largest market cap around the globe. I have seen tons of white Americans work in Shanghai, Hongkong, Beijing, Seoul and other places.
