Hey everyone, I've posted a couple times on Blind without any feedback. However, I am very optimistic about this application, so I'll keep trying. I am a PMP Certified Project Manager. I have approximately 5 strong years of experience, but I am recently certified this past February. I can honestly say that I have talked to more than 100 recruiters once they say that I was PMP Certified but I have not had one solid interview that led to any offers. During the initial conversation they always inquire about my experience when my resume is right there in front of them. Which always annoys me. Then they begin to fast talk me about the position with their prominent client that is urgently hiring. Only to give me a lowball offer for a RTR (Right to Represent). Which would ultimate just have me locked in with them even if another recruiter actually puts in the effort to get me hired. I find it all to be offensive and unprofessional personally. Moving right along... As I read the post in this application, I have noticed that TPM make more money than PM and it appears they get more respect because they have the technical skills to match. I have always taken pride in being able to bring people together in order to achieve an objective and not to toot my own horn but BEEP BEEP!! Well while I may have the most amazing people skills, what I don't have is the technical skills to match and I want to start doing Project Management in the IT space. I found out that what I like most is cybersecurity. I love seeing all of the big data, I love seeing how a CA fights office bad actors with the skills they have in cybersecurity. I have started to study for my CompTIA Network and Security Plus Certifications, which I was informed are the gold standard for IT certifications. I have also started using Professor Messer on YouTube is videos are short and sweet and allows me to understand the information in order for me to retain it. What I would like to know from those that have been where I am now. What is some advice you can give me in order to get my foot in the door or even just noticed? Personally, I am tired of only being able to get a position because of my experience. I want to someone to see that I have the potential to do anything that I set my mind too. I am also a certified Scrum Master. I have seen so many posts about how the position is useful. I believe that you think that because no one is doing Agile correctly. Stop being resistant to the change, and you understand that a Scrum Master is there to alleviate roadblock and help you to work more independently. So, if there is anyone out there in the TECH UNIVERSE that would like to help me find some purpose and an amazing TC. I will love you forever and a day.
