UK: best bank account and SIM provider
Here again with another post about moving to London. What's the best bank account I can open? I'm looking for the best app and the lowest cost. I don't want HSBC. Ideally I would be able to buy stocks with it. I'm reading Starling Bank and Monzo are pretty good. Anybody has experience with it? What about a SIM provider? I just need the cheapest one, that works everywhere in London, with the 3-5GB data per month. I will not ask for internet connection because I'm seeing that a lot of apartments comes already with that sorted out. #London, #UK
Smarty or giffgaff for SIM (although plenty other good options tbh) Lloyds/Halifax have identical apps (think they are owned by the same group somewhere up the chain) which are pretty good. I’d avoid NatWest, very annoying app Then their are the challenger banks, Monzo, Revolut come to mind. Also Wise which is excellent for international transfers
Hello again, friend. Revolut account opening process was very easy for me after getting BRP. And, I also use Wise for international transfers.
giffgaff and starling are awesome
Second this opinion. Monzo has financial issues and if it goes out of business it will be a pain - stick to starling (otherwise both are great). For mobile giffgaff and three are good
