Pharmacist looking into a career change into tech/IT. Curious how I would get a job as a consultant in an EHR company (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.)? Love doing Go Lives and have a few under my belt. Any advice will be appreciated.
It pays, but sometimes not the most exciting or fun job to be in. Besides, a career change would be good despite lower pay at the start.
For Cerner, get an employee referral, those people hear from the recruiters first.
I don't really know anyone working for them. Would you be able to give me a referral, any help will be greatly appreciated. I know I can do a good job, but getting a call from them seems impossible.
Look into pharmacy informatics analyst positions. Potential employers would be EMR vendors, Software vendors (Dr First, First Data Bank), infusion pump/medical device vendors (BBraun, Medtronic), Implementation Consulting Companies, Hospitals etc.
Does pharmacology not pay that much? I thought pharmacists make bank.
