Some countries do need a valid US visa to transit through them. Better call Lufthansa customer care.
This ^ I had a similar experience with BA.
@verizon - do you mind sharing your experience with BA?
I think you can. if you are returning to home country they will allow. I went to India in recently with expired visa.
C1 - you went through Frankfurt ? And your onboarding was from airport in USA? Did they asked for latest approved i797 at usa airport or Frankfurt?
yes. Dallas to India via Frankfurt. they did not ask for i797 ,though I had it with me for stamping
During booking no airlines perform check of ur visa validity. Most have declarations that clearly states that travelers are required to ensure they have all valid travel documents. Call their customer care and confirm.
You need a transit visa if the US visa stamped in the passport is expired. Or fly with Middle Eastern airlines or Singapore.
This! I was once denied boarding at thr Airport while transiting through EU
@uber - when you were denied? And what was the transit airport(s)/city?
H1b has nothing to do while traveling to India
Totally wrong. While its not about h1b specifically, it is about having valid stamp. If u don’t have valid stamp then you are not allowed to transit in few countries.
@apple - were you or anyone in your known ever got denied from onboarding?
