Do you read Stratechery? I listen to some podcasts like Pivot, masters of scale, decoder, grit No books come to mind at the moment but I’ll get back.
Depends on what business you want to focus on. Scaling a B2B business is very different from B2C business for instance. The way I learnt is being part of a early stage startup and doing the stuff on ground.
Oh gotcha. This is great info.
Crossing the chasm by Geoffrey Moore is a classic
Spend a year or two at an early stage startup. Cheaper than MBA and you’ll learn more. (This is what I did btw)

Why?
You need to be in meetings where business tradeoffs are being made. That can be sales, product, marketing, engineering, operations. What’s important is that teams are discussing things like: -Market Sizing -Profitability -Opportunity Cost -Growth forecasting -Messaging/PR -Budgeting -Hiring and retention You need to know the numbers for your business if your company is public look at the quarterly earnings reports, internally ask for your business unit’s financial statements. Understand what product metrics drives those numbers (e.g. customers, personas/industries, key features, new revenue streams versus cash cow or declining revenue streams)
