Have you ever used Udemy to learn new skills for your job? If so, how much has it helped you?
Helped me a ton. Courses by Mumshad around K8s are great
His courses helped me with docker and k8s as well. Then I tried setting up a real-world production k8s cluster and realized how much I still need to learn. They’re helpful, but pretty basic.
True. ‘K8s the hard way’ is the way to go for better idea here
Coursera has much better courses with rich content.
Thanks for your support! And I also feel we do!
For your job or for a new job? Lol! JK! Its great resource!
I thought both are same , end result, helps switch
Udemy is great place to kickstart and give you a 10000 feet perspective. I've used it for graphql, druid etc
I have used it to mostly brush up on topics. The best courses are about DevOps. It is easy to hear a course on DevOps and use it for our project.
Udemy is amazing! It has a lot of content. I've taken several courses so far and pretty happy with it
From my experience interviewing for a lot of FAANGS I could say no one cares about courses. And as far as the skills are concerned, unless it’s a really good course, you can learn more on your own pursuing projects.
What if you do a project via Udemy?
Any good ones to get good at aws?
For AWS, Check Amazon’s own courses. Much Much better than courses on any outside platform.
Do you have any personal recs if I want to get better with S3, dynamodb, etc?
Any good ones on aosp?
Udemy is great. However, Udemy course itself is not enough. You have to get certified for that course to make it recognized. I did AWS CSAA.
I’ll look into certification. Didn’t know that was a thing.
Most people don't care about certifications anymore. Keep that in mind before you spend money on one. I've known some people wanting to pay for it so that it holds them accountable.
