The reality of the tech job market
Had my phone screen for a senior SWE role at Atlassian via Karat. Answered a handful of system design questions and completed a single coding question in the time given (1 hour). I felt the system design questions were relatively straight-forward and feel strong about my answers, but got caught up on the leetcode-style problem and spent ~35 min on it. I gave a correct answer, but I don't think it was the optimal solution. The interviewer mentioned before starting the coding questions there may be multiple if there is time, but I only had time to complete one. I have 24 hours to schedule a re-do and contemplating doing so based off reading other blind posts that mention you need to complete 2 or more coding questions during a Karat interview. Any thoughts or experience with Karat would be appreciated. Check with the recruiter if he/she has the feedback. I had completed one coding question and gave approach for second question and was confident but recruiter asked me to do a redo and said they are expecting 2 questions to be solved. Although in the redo as well I completed 1 question and gave approach/pseudo code for second and was selected.
Talked to recruiter, they said they couldn't tell me if I passed or failed until I made the decision to re-do the Karat interview or not. They did mention that the better of the two results are chosen so there is no risk in re-doing so I plan to just do that
OP, any updates here? Did you pass?
Which topics they focus most ?
The coding question is targeted to judge correctness not optimality. Based on your experience, it seems like you've already cleared. Why don't you confirm from the recruiter. You should get mail informing the results are with recruiter
