I'm going to join Etsy in January but my friend told me today that there are strong rumors about layoffs tomorrow at Etsy. Is this true? Are they going to cancel offers?
sounds about right, it is a useless shitcoin of a company after all
Their stock has been on a tear. RIP my puts.
It is been up for past couple months but people forget the stock was trading in 200s 2 year ago..
Jesus. It was 272 sometime in 2021
Yes confirm
It's senseless company does layoffs right before Christmas !
Tell that to Spotify
And Square, which did layoffs after Spotify.
Yea, can confirm
I always wonder who actually buy from it. Everything is overpriced
I would strongly suggest NOT TO join Etsy that too leaving Uber. If not tomorrow layoffs are guarantied in 2024. Search on google for “Etsy stock predictions 2024” and you will what some useful info on how revenue has stopped growing, in 2023 Etsy squeezed $ by showing more ads but fundamental growth is missing. In 2024 unless they drive more purchases (not likely) the next thing is going to be layoffs.
Baseless rumor/speculation is all I can say. There is a hiring pause (every major tech has it) ,Etsy did not had any significant/public/known layoff in 2023, there is an increase in pip and performance based layoffs. But I would still bet my horses on Uber as their stocks are rallying and ours is falling
this comment aged well
Can confirm layoffs, they’re happening today. They told us a few weeks ago offer stage candidates would still be onboarded, but I’d ask the recruiter to speak with the HM and get a firm answer on start date if you sign the offer.
Yeah why not?
