how much cut to expect for remote full time offers? For E5 in bay area the avg pay is 350k. Do fb folks have some idea or numbers.
Very early stages but yes it’s happening
Depends on the city. I discussed moving to Vegas which would translate to a 20% cut in base. RSU grant stays same. I am not sure about yearly RSU refreshers yet (those will be adjusted/cut I am told).
Only base? Not overall tc?
Cut in base = overall cut in TC
I heard within the same country base would change and you would keep your unvested RSU’s, refreshers would also reduce based on location.. But if you move out of the country it would be a completely new offer with a new grant and you lose your unvested rsu’s.. This is anecdotal from someone I know at fb.
What about Seattle? I heard people in Seattle got the same amount, but will it change now?
Non remote fte get same offer as mpk non remote. Remote hire in Seattle does not make much sense.
I'm in Ohio, and I spoke with a FB recruiter recently about working remote at an E5 or possibly E6 level. When I asked about total comp, he flailed a bit and mentioned someone in Wisconsin, and eventually said TC might be around $300k. So, on the one hand, that's lower than I was expecting. It's actually a little lower than what I made last year, working remote for a different Bay area company. But, on the other hand, it's still pretty darn good for my area. Also, I haven't gone through the actual interview process yet, so there's still potential for a higher offer (or lower, I suppose).
I am guessing that would be for e5, e6 I would think is a bit more...
Not even worth the hassle of the interview process. The interview process is a ton of prep and a lot of hassle and very off-putting. 300k or E5/E6, not worth working at a place that might PIP you at any moment for whatever reason they see fit. Like you said, you were making more for a different Bay area company.
I'm pretty sure they're not offering full remote for new hires yet.
Yes we are :)
