FB offer @ E5, help with E6?
FB considered me for E6, interview feedback was solid E5 but not enough data to know I'll be successful at E6. I have other principal offers, so is it possible to convince FB that E6 is okay? Is it a matter of taking to the HM and going through my experience (no one really asked the right questions to determine whether I'd be a good principal IMO)? I'm currently senior, but good experience with leading large projects. On paper, I can see the hesitation.
Unfortunately it doesn't work that way OP. Also, leveling you at E5 will set you up for much more success in your first year. The demands at that level are already very high.
I’d negotiate comp to the top of E5 band using the competing offers and take it. Coming in at E6 to fb could be painful.
E6 is hard. I wish I stayed at E5 and keep rocking. Also better for comp and perception wise.
If they are lacking data,offer to do additional interviews.
E5 is already tough. just get top of range offer and crush it
